Words are flat…
It never ceases to amaze me how adding a visual dimension to my work life has completely changed how I work, and how I see myself as a proponent of that work. For over the last few years I’ve realised that to create is to discover – and discovery is learning itself.
A few colleagues of mine (you know who you are!) have gently nudged me to unpack the journey of visual thinkery to allow others to access it and learn from it. I’m flattered that anyone would be interested, and it has certainly been an unusual journey of re-invention and creative awakening, however I’ve put off starting it as I couldn’t quite see how to lay it out.
I’m now starting to think about what this could mean, how it could work and how to allow people to access this knowledge so that they could in turn apply it to their own domain, and possibly taste the creative fulfilment as I have.
If you’d like to be involved – or if you’ve got suggestions of what you’d like to see included, then please get in touch.
Here’s some of the first elements I thought could be unpacked:
In thinking about the format of such an adventure, I can’t escape the way that I learn best – from watching others, and hearing them think out loud. So I thought I’d have a go at trying to capture some the process and see if I could capture some of the on-the-spot rawness of creativity. Here goes!
So if you have some opinions on what would work, or what you’d like to see covered, then please get in touch. 🙂
